Zhytomyr Ivan Franko State University is located in the Zhytomyr region of Ukraine.

Zhytomyr Ivan Franko State University received official accreditation as a university in 2004, but its history dates back to as early as 1833.

The university comprises of three institutes and five schools. The university has programmes in foreign philology, pedagogy, journalism, history, natural sciences, physical education and sport, physics and mathematics and psychology. There are more than 17 scientific schools, 20 scientific research centres, 30 research scientific and research methodological laboratories.

There are well equipped libraries, dining rooms, cafes, publishing centres, a modern sports complex and dormitories.

It has academic collaborations with more than 40 universities around the world.
