The Dickson Poon School of Law at King’s College London is one of the oldest law schools in England and recognised as one of the best law schools in the world.

We are based in the East Wing of Somerset House, a Grade One listed building, on our Strand Campus, a short walk from the Royal Courts of Justice and Inns of Court in the heart of legal London. About the role

The Dickson Poon School of Law is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Private Law who will contribute to the teaching, research, and other academic and professional activities at The Dickson Poon School of Law.

The successful candidate is expected to have completed a PhD by the starting date. They should be keen to gain further experience in a research–led teaching role with active involvement in the administration and academic life of a thriving law school.

The successful candidate’s principal teaching contribution will be in our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, in Private Law subjects with an emphasis upon the law of Contract Law and/or Tort Law. Beyond the successful candidate’s subject specialism it is expected that they will have a solid generalist knowledge of common law Private Law subjects and an ability to impart this knowledge to undergraduate students. The successful candidate may be required to teach across all modes of programme delivery: on-campus, blended and online.

In relation to their research, the successful candidate will have a demonstrably high potential to attract research funding, will be impact-focused and able contribute, if applicable, to the research priorities of the research centres in the School of Law.

About you

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria


	PhD, DPhil or JSD in Private Law.
	Track record of excellent teaching and knowledge of common law Private Law, including Contract Law and/or Tort Law.
	A commitment to teaching in the common law of Contract Law and/or Tort Law.
	Demonstrable ability to publish high-quality research in Law with a potential to generate impact.
	Excellent oral and written communication skills.
	Competence with electronic learning platforms and other IT skills.
	Ability to work effectively within a team, work collaboratively and collegiately as well as on one’s own initiative.


Desirable criteria


	The potential to attract major funding for research in the future.
	Experience of successfully undertaking academic administrative roles.
	Teaching award e.g., Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (Advance HE).

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic, proactive Knowledge Exchange and Enterprise Fellow to work with our small, friendly team in the Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Facility (Chromatography and mass spectrometry facility | University of Southampton) in the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences, at the University of Southampton. The facility is led by Prof. Geraint Morgan and Dr Julie Herniman, and specialises in the development and application of novel analytical assays to solve complex analytical challenges for both commercial and academic collaborators.

This is a fixed term (24 months), full-time appointment (1.0 FTE/35 hours per week), with an indicative start date of 1st July 2025. The post is in the Education, Research and Enterprise (ERE) job family at Level 4 and will be based on the Highfield Campus.

Ideally candidates should have a PhD or equivalent professional qualification in Analytical Chemistry or related discipline, and a track record of academic research outputs. The ideal candidate should have prior experience and expertise in working with and maintaining gas chromatography-mass spectrometry and associated sample collection techniques for collection and analysis of volatile organic compounds (such as thermal desorption).

This role involves running the day-to-day activities of the Chromatography and Mass spectrometry facility, with a specific emphasis on the gas chromatography-mass spectrometry instrumentation, as well handling Health and Safety tasks and customer engagement. Potential candidates should also demonstrate an ability to write project reports and research papers independently, present their work externally and be able to work successfully with multidisciplinary teams. About the opportunity

The Faculty of Medicine and Health is looking for an Education Support Officer (Clinical) to support the provision of a broad range of educational support services to academic and teaching staff, in the management of the Doctor of Medicine (MD) Program.

This position requires you to be on site a minimum of 4 days a week. Hybrid working options will be decided with your manager if you are successful in this position.

Your key responsibilities will be to:


	coordinate and provide administrative support for clinical teaching including the recruitment, engagement and ongoing relationship management with paid and non-paid clinical tutors and supervisors, including timetabling and logistical management (including booking and preparation of teaching spaces) of the tutor base.
	liaise with and build strong relationships with key staff and relevant stakeholders, including staff, academics, and clinicians from the LHD.

About the opportunity

We are seeking an Operations Coordinator to manage general administrative and operational support including preparing documents, responding to complex queries and sourcing solutions for the work area. Your key responsibilities will be to:
