Duties at this level will include: 


	Develop, coordinate and teach a high-quality learning experience that engages students through the conduct of tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops, student field excursions, clinical sessions and/or studio sessions.
	Demonstrate a scholarly approach to learning and teaching and contribute to disciplinary teaching pedagogy.
	Keep abreast of innovations in teaching and learning in areas such as, but not restricted to, online and blended delivery and incorporate where appropriate, to continually develop professional practice skills/knowledge and expertise.


Skills and knowledge required for this position: 


	PhD or equivalent accreditation and standing recognised by the University/profession as appropriate for the relevant discipline areas.
	Demonstrated experience in learning sciences and teacher pedagogy, and a deep understanding of current research and trends that inform quality pedagogy in a range of learning environments to drive high stakes assessment.
	Demonstrated understanding and experience of the learning sciences that inform impactful learning in teacher education, with strong understanding and application of skills in digital learning.

Join the project shaping the future of inclusive technology

At the University of Southampton, our research addresses some of the most pressing challenges of today’s world. Now, funded by EPSRC, we are looking for a talented?Postdoctoral Research Fellow?to join the?RADAR-SIGN-BRIDGE?project – an exciting initiative to develop?privacy-preserving radar technology?for?British Sign Language (BSL) recognition and translation.

You will be based in the?School of Electronics and Computer Science (ECS), working alongside an interdisciplinary team led by?Dr. Shelly Vishwakarma (s.vishwakarma@soton.ac.uk), in collaboration with partners at the?University of Edinburgh (Centre for Speech Technology Research, CSTR)?and?University College London (Deafness Cognition and Language Research Centre, DCAL).

About the role

You will lead the design, development, and validation of?LinguaRadar?– a first-of-its-kind radar simulator for sign language gestures. Your work will involve integrating animation pipelines (e.g., OpenPose, MediaPipe, Blender) with radar signal models, generating synthetic radar datasets, and validating them with real-world measurements from?radar hardware.

As part of the team, you will:


	Build and validate radar signal simulation frameworks for BSL gestures.
	Process skeletal motion data to drive simulation pipelines.
	Conduct radar experiments to calibrate and benchmark simulation outputs.
	Write academic papers, contribute to open-source dataset releases, and present your work at international conferences.


About you

You will bring your passion for advancing radar sensing technology into a new application domain. You will have:


	A PhD* or equivalent qualification / experience in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Signal Processing, or a closely related field.
	Proven experience in radar systems, radar signal processing, and simulation.
	Strong programming skills (Python, MATLAB, or C++).
	Excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.


Experience with micro-Doppler or range-Doppler radar analysis, or familiarity with animation/motion capture data processing, would be advantageous.

The Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience’s (IoPPN) Education Support Team is looking for a Programme Officer to offer high-quality administrative support to undergraduate programmes in the School of Mental Health & Psychological Sciences (MHaPS) and the School of Neuroscience, within the Assessments Team.

?The Programme Officer will work as a member of the Assessments Team to ensure consistent management and delivery of taught assessment provision through essential support to academics and professional services colleagues. About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity to work as Programme Officer in a dynamic team within the IoPPN’s Education Support Team. The Assessments Team are seeking an enthusiastic, proactive and confident administrator, who is committed to providing an excellent provision that supports the assessments administration lifecycle across the undergraduate programmes in the School of Mental Health & Psychological Sciences (MHaPS) and the School of Neuroscience. This is an ideal opportunity to begin or develop further your career in Higher Education administration.

The Programme Officer will interact with a wide range of academic and professional services staff from across the Faculty and the University, ensuring that our stakeholders benefit from our services in a seamless and effective manner. The role reports to the Programme Manager with supervision from the Senior Programme Officer, and will work on a range of tasks including but not limited to: setting up assessment submission areas; answering queries through a shared inbox; liaising with external examiners; supporting the scheduling and set-up of exams; and preparing student data ahead of, and servicing Assessment Sub Boards.

With support to develop a working knowledge of regulations and processes, the Programme Officer will have a keen eye for accuracy and detail. Applicants should have excellent IT skills, particularly adept in Microsoft Excel, and some experience of utilising virtual learning environments and/or student record systems would be advantageous. The position will be expected to support a varied and high-pace workload, demonstrating excellent organisation and flexibility, often across competing priorities in line with core university deadlines and requirements.

This is a full time post (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract. We offer hybrid working with two days in the office at the Denmark Hill campus, and the rest working from home.

The Lau China Institute, King’s College London is the largest China-focused research institute in the UK. About the role

The Events Officer will play an important role in helping to meet the Institute’s strategic external engagement goals, working as part of a dynamic team, situated within the heart of London.

The Officer will support the Impact and Engagement Manager to coordinate and deliver a programme of high-impact events – including the Institute’s annual flagship events series?China Week –?as well as help to develop external and internal communications tailored to the needs of a growing national and international audience based across government, media, business and academia.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an organised and creative individual to coordinate a range of engaging events on modern China such as lectures, film screenings and roundtables, and create and disseminate content through the website, social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram) and digital newsletter to increase our reach amongst audiences in the UK and overseas.

The successful candidate will work with academics, external partners and departments across King’s to coordinate both in-person and hybrid events to ensure they are delivered as smoothly as possible. They will be a key liaison between speakers and King’s venues and AV teams. They will be responsible for drafting event briefs for the website and ticketing platforms, monitoring ticket sales, identifying AV and catering needs, organising speaker travel and accommodation etc.

This is a full-time post and you will be offered a 1-year fixed term contract. The successful candidate will be required to work occasional evenings particularly during China Week. Flexible and hybrid working with the ability to be on campus at least 2 days a week.

You will be directly involved with the UNIFORM (UNIfying Grid-FOllowing And Grid-foRMing Control In Inverter-based Resources) project, a collaborative programme with four academic and industrial partners that aspire to develop the next generation of inverter control. It is essential to have a PhD* or equivalent professional qualifications in Electrical/Power Systems, and especially in the areas of power system dynamics, stability and grid-forming control. Proficiency with relevant software, such as MATLAB/Simulink, is essential. Experience with hardware in the loop (HIL) setups and tests is desirable.

This highly collaborative project will involve multiple research visits to academic partners within the UK and abroad up to 30 consecutive days and up to 90 days per annum for joint research and knowledge exchange, as well as travel to conference and other venues for dissemination activities.
