The Role

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work with Dr Sui Ting Kong and Dr Alison Jobe from the Centre for Social Justice and Community Action in the Sociology Department, and Professor Debbie Riby from the Centre for Neurodiversity and Development in the Psychology department. Working across two university centres, our aim is to further develop participatory research training for NINEDTP doctoral students working in partnership with community groups / partners.

The post holder will work with the academic team to develop, deliver, and evaluate a Participatory Action Research training package for NINEDTP doctoral students that focuses on involving neurodivergent young people and children as experts. The post is funded through the North Ireland and North East Doctoral (NINE DTP) training partnership. More information about the NINEDTP can be found here- .

The successful applicant will be expected to:


	Provide general admin support to the work package.
	Support and develop the collaboration between the CSJCA and the Centre for Neurodiversity
	Develop, deliver and evaluate a pioneer/cutting-edge PAR training for NINEDTP doctoral students based on PAR training and toolkits of the CSJCA and Centre for Neurodiversity (a potential paper output)
	Support the development of CPD strategies based on our PAR training and toolkits.


This post is fixed term for 4 months at 0.5fte until 31st January 2026. Funding is available for this period only. Successful applicants will ideally be in post by October 2025.

The post-holder is employed to work on research/a research project which will be led by another colleague. Whilst this means that the post-holder will not be carrying out independent research in his/her own right, the expectation is that they will contribute to the advancement of the project, through the development of their own research ideas/adaptation and development of research protocols.

ICS MUNI (Institute of Computer Science)?primarily provides the operation and development of the IT infrastructure of Masaryk University. In addition, it participates in the development of the?National Data Infrastructure (NDI), a?platform for sharing, managing, and accessing data and computing resources for research purposes.

In connection with the development of systems for managing the provenance of research data, we are looking for a?new team member for the position of?Methodologist.

In this position, you will be responsible for:


	Creating methodological frameworks that ensure the compliance of the software system with international standards (in particular ISO 23494, ISO 13888) and legal requirements.
	Supporting the development team in documenting the system and ensuring compliance with standards and quality of results.
	Cooperating with legal experts on the interpretation and implementation of legal and ethical requirements.
	Translating formal standards into practical guidelines for developers.
	Preparing documentation to serve as a?basis for audits, quality control, and communication with users from various scientific domains.
	Designing and updating methodologies for the development and operation of systems for working with research data.

You will be working as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant (PDRA) in the Bourne-Worster group, within the Department of Chemistry at Durham University, which is located on the Science Campus, a 10-minute walk away from Durham old town. The post is available for 2.5 years, including a 1-year probation period, ideally starting by March 2026 (although flexibility around this date is possible). The usual starting salary is grade 7, spine point 30 (?38,249 per year before taxes).

As a PDRA in computational chemistry at Durham, you will have access to state-of-the-art instrumentation and facilities, including Durham's High-Performance Computer, Hamilton (15,616 CPU cores, 36TB RAM and 1.9PB disk space). As part of the Northern 8 cluster, members of Durham University can also submit projects to the Tier 2 supercomputer Bede (32 IBM Power 9 dual-CPU nodes, each with 4 NVIDIA V100 GPUs and high performance interconnect). The is also well-provisioned with computational resources and you will be able to carry out much of your routine work on our two new dedicated server machines (each 64 CPU cores, NVIDIA Tesla A30 GPU unit, 384GB RAM and over 24TB storage).

The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic candidate with a PhD in synthetic chemistry for a 3-year specified purpose position as senior post-doctoral researcher. The advertised position will be part of the Frontiers for the Future Award, Research Ireland funded project entitled ‘’Constrained Bismuth / (Precious) Metal-free Scaffolds for Ammonia Activation’’. The recruited senior postdoctoral researcher will be involved in the development of new concepts that combine organic ligand design with?d- and?p-block chemistry aiming at the preparation of new catalysts pertinent to the activation of ammonia.

The post requires extensive experience in organic (ligand oriented) and organometallic/organo-main group synthesis (Schlenk line and glovebox techniques), including the handling, purification and characterisation of air- and moisture-sensitive compounds using state-of-the-art methods including 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopy (1H, 13C, hetero-nuclei), single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis, IR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry. Applicants will further benefit from experience in small molecule activation, homogeneous catalysis and electrochemistry.

Salary:

Senior Postdoctoral Researcher: €54,308 p.a. (1st point with annual increments)

Postdoctoral Researcher: €46,305 - €52,862 p.a (6 points)
