About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and shape the student support provision at King’s Business School. As Senior Student Support Manager, you will play a central role in ensuring our student support services and processes are inclusive, effective, and responsive to the needs of our diverse student community. ?

Working in partnership with the Associate Director of Education, the Student Support team, and Programme Management teams, you will shape and deliver a high-quality, student-centred support service aligned with university-wide policies and faculty priorities.?

You will be responsible for overseeing key student support mechanisms, including case escalations, the Support for Study process, and initiatives related to student wellbeing and academic progression. Using data insights and stakeholder feedback, you will monitor and continuously improve the effectiveness of support provision, driving forward improvements and consistency across programmes.?

A key part of the role is managing the delivery and development of the professional services-led personal tutoring provision, including a team of four Personal Tutors and a Student Support Manager. You will provide clear direction, coaching, and support to enable the team to manage their workload effectively and respond confidently to sensitive student matters.?

This role also involves leading on complex and sensitive casework, acting as a key point of escalation and ensuring that student welfare concerns are managed appropriately and in line with university procedures. ?

As the Faculty’s Designated Safeguarding Officer, you will ensure compliance with safeguarding requirements and contribute to the development of a supportive, risk-aware culture. You will work closely with colleagues across the university, including Disability Services, Counselling, and central student wellbeing teams, to provide coordinated support for all KBS students. ?

This is a key leadership role within the KBS Education Professional Services team, offering a unique opportunity to influence strategic developments in student support at faculty and university level.?

About you:

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria


	Experience in student welfare case management, leading the provision of support for students across a wide range of situations including when in crisis, from different backgrounds and demonstrating empathy, sensitivity, and discretion.
	Experience of managing a team, driving change, and leading on the implementation of initiatives and drive projects to completion.
	Comprehensive experience and understanding of the issues impacting the higher education sector in relation to student welfare, support and safeguarding.
	Awareness of when to signpost students to appropriate support services, including those relating to health and wellbeing, disability support or academic studies.
	Ability to analyse complex data, policies, and procedures to drive improvements, support colleagues, and escalate issues when needed.
	Demonstrable negotiating / influencing skills and an ability to work with all levels of stakeholders.
	Ability to balance competing demands and manage expectations, both for your own workload and that of a team, bearing in mind the needs of our stakeholders
	Ability to engage in collaborative working across professional service teams, other faculties, academic and student communities, with a meaningful and visible commitment to Diversity & Inclusion policies and practices.


Desirable criteria


	Experience of participating in university-level committees/projects, representing the Faculty and communicating requirements to senior management.
	Experience of Mental Health first aid and other specialist welfare support training.

The School of Healthcare Enterprise and Innovation (SHEI) is welcoming applications for someone to manage the new the School of Healthcare Enterprise & Innovation Design Suite, which will provide year-round support for the new MSc programme in Medical Technology Innovation and Design (MTID). We are looking for a highly motivated individual who will support our students in creating cutting-edge medical technology prototypes. This will involve ensuring the safe and effective running of the design suite and providing high-quality technical support for prototyping, using a range of tools for things such as 3D printing and basic electronics. There will also be the opportunity to contribute to teaching and academic publications, and the successful post-holder will be supported in Continuous Professional Development activity.

SHEI is a community of researchers, healthcare professionals and educators who champion the development of healthcare innovations that generate social change and economic benefits. The MTID programme is an ambitious and unique postgraduate programme for the UK; project-based, it brings together students from various disciplinary backgrounds to design new medical technologies, which address significant clinical problems in both UK and global healthcare contexts.?

About the Role

Mechanical Engineering at Flinders University is growing and is a key part of the Factory of the Future, a world-class advanced manufacturing facility that is the first of its kind in Australia.

Mechanical Engineering is based in our state-of-the-art Tonsley Innovation District and new City Campus, both with direct access to established collaborative industry partners. The Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering will contribute to promoting the College as a centre of excellence in Engineering education and research, both nationally, and internationally.

In this Teaching & Research (Balanced) position, other responsibilities will include:

About the role

The School Research Manager (SRM) will set the strategic direction for and manage the School Research Team.? ?They will provide comprehensive support and advice for staff wishing to apply for research funding and consultancies.?

The SRM will oversee the delivery of research support services for all staff and students within the School of 51吃瓜 Affairs, working with the Faculty and Arts & Science Research Offices.??The role will work closely with the relevant officers and offices within the University and with research funders to secure and manage grants.? They will support the development, writing and submission of research proposals in accordance with policies and procedures for research grant submission as agreed with the Faculty and the Arts & Sciences Research Office.?? The SRM will work with the Faculty Research Team to provide the full range of administrative support for the Research Excellence Framework in conjunction with Faculty colleagues and academic leads of the various Units of Assessment within the School.??

This is a full-time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered an a fixed term 12 month contract until July 2026.
