Basic information and contact details for St Thomas Aquinas College

institution

Founded in 1952, St. Thomas Aquinas College is a private liberal arts institution in New York with a Catholic heritage.

Named after 13th century philosopher and theologian Thomas Aquinas, STAC, as it is often known, runs more than 100 programmes and is generally regarded as one of the best regional colleges in the American North East. Aquinas was an Italian priest in the Dominican Order who has been particularly influential in scholasticism, natural law and the just war theory.

The college is located in Sparkill, a tiny hamlet which retains a rural rather than suburban feel despite being just 20 miles north of New York City. It is to the west of the Hudson River, but just over the state*s border with New Jersey. Sparkill is linked to NYC by bus and train.

The college*s three schools, the School of Arts & Sciences, School of Business and School of Education, mostly run undergraduate programmes but also deliver a select number of master*s courses, including finance, management and public health.

Famous alumni include Frank Messina, a poet and author who has regularly performed on American television and become particularly well-known for writing about baseball, especially his beloved New York Mets, and Barbara Corcoran, a multi-millionaire and TV personality who established New York*s largest real estate company.
