We are now seeking a dynamic and visionary academic leader to take on the role of Associate Dean, Research. This senior leadership position plays a critical role in shaping the School’s research strategy, mentoring and supporting emerging researchers, and driving innovation in practice-oriented research.?

As the Associate Dean, Research, you will:


	Provide academic leadership to strengthen research capability and output across the School;
	Champion interdisciplinary and collaborative research, both internally and with our extensive extern partners;
	Foster a supportive environment for early and mid-career academics to thrive;
	Lead initiatives that align with the School’s commitment to impactful, community-driven research; and
	Contribute to the School’s?senior leadership team?and strategic planning.

Appointment Information

The successful applicant will be appointed to a full-time, ongoing position as Professor of Nursing or Midwifery with salary of $213,161 (ALEVE) plus 17% University superannuation. Appointment to the role of Associate Dean, Research is for a three-year term.?

Qualifications and Experience

The successful applicant:?


	Must be registered or eligible for registration as a nurse or midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia;
	Will have completed a PhD;
	Will have completed qualifications in education and/or can demonstrate educational experience within a tertiary or clinical practice setting;
	Will have a sustained track record of research related activities within a tertiary education or clinical practice setting; and
	Will demonstrate a sound professional and academic track record in nursing or midwifery.

We are currently seeking an inspiring leader in the field of paramedicine to provide leadership in paramedicine research, education and community engagement. You will be a leader in promoting excellence in the Schools teaching, research, scholarly and professional activities, and supporting other academic staff. You will deliver teaching to undergraduate and postgraduate students in the Paramedicine courses using blended modes of subject delivery and grow the research profile of the discipline.

The successful candidate will be expected to progress an active research profile relevant to paramedicine and aligned to the Schools strategic direction.

About you


	A doctoral qualification relevant to paramedicine.
	Current registration or eligibility for registration as a paramedic with the Paramedicine Board of Australia.
	A record of academic achievement of national and/or international standing through outstanding contributions to teaching, research, and/or clinical innovation.
	Significant experience in and comprehensive knowledge of the discipline area with capacity to develop and evaluate practice innovations.
	Demonstrated ability to provide effective leadership and building people capability in an academic and clinical setting.

ABOUT THE SCHOOL OF ROBOTICS 

The School of Robotics is one of the seven industry-themed Schools in the XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang). Each School consists of an Education, Research and Development Institute (ERDI) for teaching and research collaboration, a one-stop School Office providing professional services to support student administration and activities, members of staff, and industry partners, and an affiliated School Joint-Venture Company jointly established by XJTLU and the School’s partner for industry-embedded teaching, learning, practical, and other activities. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCES


	A doctoral research (normally PhD) degree in electrical and electronics, mechatronics, intelligent controls, robotics engineering, computer science, artificial intelligence, computer vision, mobile robotics, machine learning, data science and analytics, or be able to demonstrate an equivalent professional practice and engagement.
	Previous experience in coding (C/C++, Python, ROS etc) in robotics-related domains.
	Self-motivated for innovative teaching.
	Clear understanding of the philosophy and concept of Syntegrative Education (SE).
	Demonstrable past teaching/industry experiences or practices aligned with Syntegrative Education (SE).
	A commitment to Continual Professional Development in all areas of the role as an academic at the university.
	Ability to work, teach and research in English
	Strong team-work spirit.


DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE


	A good track record of engagement with business and industry.
	University-level teaching experience.
	Relevant industry experience.
	Appropriate research experience, including working with industry, for the corresponding academic position level.
	Experience in intensive teaching and problem-based learning, and a willingness to be innovative in teaching practices.
	An institutional builder, able to work with wider disciplines across the college.

This position is linked to the Urban Sense project and is sponsored by Dublin City Council and Research Ireland. Urban Sense is modelling and measuring greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across Dublin. The focus of this position is developing an agent-based model (ABM) to capture the statistical properties of neighbourhoods as they relate GHG emissions. This will entail the compilation of detailed spatial and temporal data on sociodemographic, housing, work, transport, commercial activity, etc. that can be integrated within a selected ABM framework. This model will be evaluated using existing data and used to simulate GHG emissions under different policy scenarios. The successful candidate will work with Dublin City Council and their climate change team.

Post Doctoral Level 2?Fixed Salary: €53,770 Per Annum
