We are seeking a Teaching and Curriculum Officer to join the team to provide a broad range of administrative support in the development and delivery of teaching and curriculum activities across the school.

Your key responsibilities will be to:


	deliver administrative support for teaching activities including result processing, prize and scholarship award, room bookings and enquiries management using University, Faculty and School system platforms
	assist with coordination of the school's curriculum information on the University's online systems as well as the School's web pages, intranet and publications
	support the School and Disciplinary coordinators, and related School committees, preparing agendas, taking minutes, keeping accurate records and following-up any actions
	liaise with relevant Faculty and central PSU to establish effective working relationships in relation to case or issue management.


About you


	previous experience in the higher education/tertiary sector and working knowledge of student academic activities
	excellent computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office (in particular Excel) and experience operating with large, corporate-level database and information systems
	ability to problem solve, manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, achieve required outcomes and attention to detail
	effective and tactful communication skills (both verbal and written) together with the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement.

About us:

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on the Improving Communication with Adults with Learning Disabilities (ICALD) research programme, funded by the National Institute of Health & Care Research (NIHR).

The aim of this programme is to improve the delivery and implementation of communication support for adults with learning disabilities living in social care settings.

The post holder will be based at Becket House, SE1 7EU with the Chief Investigator Prof Vicky Slonims.

About the role:

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual who will be responsible for recruitment and data collection in the final work package of the ICALD programme: a randomised trial with stepped wedge design evaluating the delivery and implementation of an intervention package aimed to improve communication between social care staff and the adults with learning disabilities that they support.

The post requires experience of conducting recruitment and data collection in large studies and previous experience of working with or supporting people with learning disabilities and/or people that care for them and support them.

The post holder will contribute to recruitment of adults with learning disabilities, their family members and the staff that support them, and conduct assessment, interviews and observations.

The postholder will contribute to the preparation of high quality outputs, disseminating? research findings to different audiences and completing administrative tasks related to the study.

You will gain experience of conducting research in different settings, using different techniques to understand the support needs of adults with learning disabilities who experience difficulties with communication.

This is a full time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract until 31st May 2028.

There is an equivalent role being offered through The University of Manchester. If you are interested in being considered for both the London and Manchester-based roles, please submit an application to both organisations independently.

Research staff at King’s are entitled to at least 10 days per year (pro-rata) for professional development. About you:

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria


	PhD awarded in Psychology or Health or Social Sciences or similar qualification in a relevant subject.
	Proven experience of carrying out research and participant recruitment within large organisations such as social care settings, NHS trusts, schools, or similar.
	Strong knowledge of trial design, methodology, monitoring, data management and regulatory requirements (e.g. Good Clinical Practice)
	Excellent accuracy and attention to detail when managing data.
	Previous experience in learning disabilities research and/or working with people with learning disabilities or those who care for and support them in other contexts
	Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to quickly build rapport with people from all backgrounds and walks of life and engage them respectfully and effectively in the research activities
	Ability to manage own workload, including competing priorities and deadlines and remain calm under pressure.
	Willingness to travel for data collection and conferences as required, including data collection out of typical working hours. Occasional overnight stays will be required.


Desirable criteria


	Experience of collecting, managing and analysing qualitative data in range of formats.
	Proven experience of conducting research within the UK Governance framework
	Knowledge of and/or experience in developing accessible materials and resources (i.e. in easy read format).
	Knowledge of the UK Social Care context

The Center for Genomics and Systems Biology (CGSB) at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) is announcing the opening of an Artist-in-Residence program and is welcoming applications from artists to fill the fourth position to start on September 1, 2026.

The CGSB was established in 2012 to develop a world-class research environment at NYUAD and in the UAE. The NYUAD-CGSB includes a diverse array of research programs oriented around two main directions, “Biomedicine and Health” and “Environmental Adaptation and Sustainability”. The CGSB encourages and promotes scientific and cultural interactions by regularly hosting events such as lectures, workshops, and Science Cafés, facilitating the exchange of ideas and knowledge between program participants and the community. The Artist-in-Residence program is an extension of this effort and will bring together scientists and artists to collaborate, communicate, interact, and learn, promoting the creative thinking that drives innovation. The chosen artist is expected to collaborate with scientists on one or several of the CGSB-related research programs.The CGSB is located on the campus of NYUAD. NYUAD is a portal campus of New York University where classes of >400 international students from all over the world receive a liberal arts US education. NYUAD is located on Saadiyat Island, which is destined to become the cultural hub of the Middle East. It already hosts Le Louvre Abu Dhabi, and several other museums are in construction.

The position includes funds for the implementation of the artist’s project, a competitive salary, a housing allowance, and other benefits. The position will start on September 1, 2026, for one year.

The Atomic Scale Physics group at the Department of Applied Physics is looking now for a Doctoral Researcher (PhD student)?to pursue a degree in the field of?2D nanodevices and condensed matter physics (especially in low-dimensional correlated materials).

The student will work at the frontier of low dimensional quantum materials research with state-of-the-art experimental techniques including nanofabricated devices with 2D materials and low temperature scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) in a world-renowned group having expertise in these techniques and materials.

Your role and goals

The goal of the doctoral researcher is to study emergent electronic phenomena in two-dimensional materials by gate-tunable scanning tunneling microscopy (STM). Typical examples of these materials include van der Waals monolayers of transition metal dichalcogenide superconductors, Mott insulators, ferromagnets, multiferroics, etc.

Your tasks will include:


	Fabrication of nanoelectronic devices in cleanroom facilities (lithography, deposition, exfoliation and transfer of 2D materials).
	Characterization of 2D materials using Raman spectroscopy, AFM, and related techniques.
	Integration of such devices into low-temperature STM experiments.
	Collaboration with group members and international theoretical/computational partners.


Your experience and ambitions


	Master’s degree in the field of condensed matter physics or a closely related field.
	Existing skills and knowledge in electronic device nanofabrication and clean room processing of 2D materials (required).
	Skill sets of handling low-temperature and ultra-high vacuum systems, such as molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) or STM experience, are a bonus.
	Ability to work both independently and as a part of an international and multidisciplinary research group.
	Interest in experimental condensed matter physics.
	Excellent command of English. The Finnish language is not required.

What we offer 

We offer a fully funded PhD project for one talented Doctoral Researcher under the guidance of Dr. Ziying Wang in the Atomic Scale Physics group led by Prof. Peter Liljeroth. The group consists currently of 3 Academy Research Fellows, 1 Postdoctoral Researcher and 5 Doctoral Researchers. The group focuses studying physical phenomena in atomically precise materials characterized using scanning tunneling microscopy and non-contact atomic force microscopy in a wide array of systems such as heterostructures of two-dimensional van der Waals materials, atomically well-defined graphene nanoribbons, and artificial lattices on surfaces.

The position of the Doctoral Researcher is initially filled for 2 years. The contract is continued for another 2 years after a successful midterm review. The annual workload of research and teaching staff at Aalto University is 1612 hours. Aalto University follows the salary system of Finnish universities. The starting salary is approximately 2815 €/month (gross), and it increases as the Doctoral Researcher progresses in the research and studies.
