Karakoram International University was originally founded in 2002 by a charter from the Federal Government. It was ordered by the then President of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, General Pervez Musharraf, to establish the university.?
The university is located in Gilgit, against the dramatic backdrop of the Karakoram Range.?
The university also has three regional campuses situated in Hunza, Ghizer, and Diamer.
There are four faculties at the university: Faculty of Life Sciences, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Technology, Faculty of Arts and Humanities, and the Faculty of Social Sciences. Each faculty is divided into different departments which offer a range of both undergraduate and graduate degree programmes. There is also the Advance Studies and Research Office which facilitates all of the university’s postgraduate studies and research-based degree programmes.
The university supports regional development through training in gemstone cutting, woodcraft, mining, and agriculture. It also advises local entrepreneurs and farmers, promoting economic sustainability.

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Clinical Psychologist to join the Clinical Psychology Training Programme based in Guildford, at the University of Surrey. We have two 0.6FTE permanent roles available (three days a week) but can discuss alternatives to this working pattern for the right candidates. Our core team day is a Tuesday, with flexibility available for the other two days worked across the week. Staff are encouraged to work on site at the University of Guildford for at least one day a week (on a Tuesday), and at other times when required on campus. Hybrid working is possible across the rest of the week.?

The programme has seen an expansion in training places over the past few years, due to increased funding from NHS England. The posts therefore, offer a unique opportunity to join the team at a time of growth and innovation. The post-holder will work in close partnership with local NHS Trusts, supporting placements, supervisor training and trainee supervision, within the context of the programme’s collaborative university-NHS training ecosystem.

We welcome applications from qualified HCPC registered Clinical Psychologists with expertise across a variety of clinical or research settings. We are particularly interested in applications from Psychologists interested in neuropsychological assessment, working with Older Adults and people with Learning Disabilities. However, we encourage applicants to apply with expertise across all clinical fields. Successful applicants will be required to work well as a member of a team, and be passionate about developing the clinical competencies of our trainees. We particularly welcome applicants who can contribute to our programme’s research profile, provide inclusive leadership, and help embed equality, diversity, and inclusion into our training model.

The PsychD team are a welcoming, innovative and cohesive group with a wide variety of clinical and research interests. The programme sits within the Discipline of Clinical and Health Psychology, within the School of Psychology. The School has an outstanding reputation for applied psychology training and research. You will be joining a vibrant department with an active research culture, and a team who are committed to inclusion, antiracism and exploring the needs of under-served communities. There are multiple opportunities for ongoing professional development, including applicants being eligible to undertake a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (if not already held).

All post-holders must hold a clinical doctorate in psychology, or equivalent, and will be expected to contribute directly to evaluation of clinical competencies, develop links with local NHS Trusts, and contribute towards teaching and learning, in addition to day-to-day administrative tasks of the programme. The role will provide opportunities for leadership development.

Please note that this role will be offered at either Lecturer A or Lecturer B level depending on your experience (see job profiles below for further details). The salary range for a 0.6 FTE Lecturer A starts from ?22,616 and 0.6 FTE Lecturer B starts from ?28,433.

The Department of Astrophysics of the University of Vienna offers a varied and international working environment with currently about 90 scientific staff and six colleagues in administration and IT. Since our scientists come from more than 20 different countries, English and German are the working languages. We are the largest astronomy department in Austria and involved in numerous international collaborations. The working place, the University Observatory, is located in the 18th district of Vienna in the middle of the natural monument Observatory Park.

Your future tasks:

As Department Coordinator you are in charge of all organizational aspects of the department. Within the department you are the interface between administrative and scientific staff and the (deputy) heads(s) of department. Furthermore, you coordinate the cooperation with institutions on faculty level (e.g., Dean's Office, StudiesServiceCenter) as well as on university level (e.g., with service units such as Human Resources and Gender Equality, Accounting and Finance, Facility and Resources Management) in administrative matters.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly qualified Principal Investigator (PI) to establish and lead the Hong Kong Center for the 'protecting.health'?51吃瓜 Initiative, led by Nobel Prize Laureate Prof. Dr. Ferenc Krausz. The selected candidate will be considered for appointment as a Research Professoriate staff in the Faculty of Science, to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal, subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.?

Protecting.health?aims to revolutionize healthcare by pioneering?personalized preventive medicine?for prevalent non-communicable diseases (NCDs) including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and cancer, claiming 17 million premature deaths every year. The envisioned protecting.health/hongkong study is a large-scale, longitudinal health monitoring study designed to develop – in cooperation with several other studies of the same kind – the?world's first health screening test?for the early, pre-symptomatic detection of prevalent NCDs through advanced blood molecular phenotyping and artificial intelligence. The study design builds upon the prototypical?protecting.health?study under way in Hungary (h4h.hu) and will be established in multiple countries to form a global network of standardized?protecting.health?studies.

This position offers a unique opportunity to lead a landmark longitudinal study with the support of a dedicated central?protecting.health?coordinating team. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and directing the national hub for this decade-long longitudinal study. Responsibilities include recruiting a cohort of up to 15,000 local participants, overseeing successful regulatory and ethical conducts, and establishing state-of-the-art infrastructure for clinical assessment, biobanking, and data management that will serve as a cornerstone of medical research in Hong Kong for years to come.

	Demonstrated experience as a PI or co-investigator in clinical or population health study, with a strong track record of regulatory compliance and ethical conduct?
	Certification in Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and deep knowledge and experience of the clinical research landscape in Hong Kong
	Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
	Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English

	Prior success in securing research funding and managing research budgets


The appointment rank will be determined based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate, where those with a highly distinguished track record recognized at international level may be considered for the position of Professor (Research).

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
