The School of Childhood and Social Care at the University of East London (UEL) is looking to appoint several External Examiners to cover our undergraduate and postgraduate provision. Subjects include:


	BA Hons Early Childhood Studies
	BA Hons Education Studies
	BA Hons Special Education
	MA Education
	MA Leadership in Education
	Professional Doctorate in Education


We are also looking for Greek speaking academics with subject knowledge in Early childhood studies and Special Education.

We would like to receive applications from UK-based practitioners and academic colleagues in these areas who have expertise/experience of teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level, experience as a professional practitioner and online delivery is desirable, previous experience as an External Examiner is desirable but not essential.

You would be joining a university recognised for its teaching quality and student experience (University of the Year for Teaching Quality in the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2025; 3rd nationally in the National Student Survey 2024).

Applications are invited for the position of?Senior Lecturer (holding the title of Advanced Professional Trainer) in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration?(Ref: 530816). The appointment will commence as soon as possible on a two-year or three-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.? A highly competitive salary, commensurate with qualifications and experience, will be offered, along with annual leave and medical benefits. The appointee will be involved in the professional capacity building team of the Jockey Club End-of-Life Community Care Project for Persons with Disabilities, focusing on professional training and public education in end-of-life care (EoLC). Duties and responsibilities include:


	Adopting innovative pedagogy to design and deliver specific training programs on EoLC issues, targeting stakeholders ranging from healthcare and social care professionals, family caregivers, and volunteers to the general public.
	Generating evidence-based content on end-of-life care, aligned with the professional training and public education activities of the project.
	Supporting and performing other duties as assigned.


Applicants should possess:


	A good Master’s degree or higher qualification in Social Work, Public Health, Mental Health, Psychology, Behavioral Health, Counseling, Nursing, or a related discipline.
	At least 5 years of solid experience in conducting professional training for the medical and/or social work sector on End-of-Life Care (EoLC) and/or public education on EoLC-related topics in Hong Kong.
	Good command of written and spoken Chinese (Cantonese) and English.
	Expert competence in areas including, but not limited to, palliative care, family counseling, the use of art, therapeutic groups, and bereavement care.
	A strong reputation in the psycho-social and communication aspects of EoLC. Knowledge of e-learning design would be an advantage.

The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver on an industry innovation research project where you will be part of the research team to examine the effects of the IMR Self-Management Programme for individuals experiencing major depressive disorders in Singapore.

Key Responsibilities:


	Participate in and manage the research project with the Principal Investigator (PI), co-PI, and the research team members to ensure the achievement of all project deliverables.
	Undertake these responsibilities in the project:



	oversee the general management of the project;
	undertake the day-to-day running of the project at the study site (such as recruitment, provision of intervention, and data collection);
	provide administrative and secretarial support to the project, such as organizing regular meetings to maintain regular communication with other members of the research team and collaborate with the study sites;
	undertake the day-to-day running of the project at the study site, e.g. collaborate with team members at the study sites, recruitment, and data collection at the study site;
	conduct literature searches, using SPSS to enter data, analyze data and maintain the trial database, as well as assist in preparing both progress and final reports of the project;
	maintain the highest standard of professional conduct and record keeping per policies and procedures; assist in ethical application, amendment and submission of annual and final reports; and
	work on other tasks as assigned.



	Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations.
	Coordinate procurement and liaise with vendors/suppliers.
	Work independently and within a team to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment.


Job Requirements:


	Have relevant competence in the areas of conducting research
