Ashesi University＊s mission is to propel an African renaissance by educating next-generation ethical, entrepreneurial leaders and raising the bar for higher education in Africa. Located in Ghana, this non-profit, multidisciplinary university combines a rigorous liberal arts core with degree programs in Computer Science, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, and Engineering. A student-led honor code, hands-on learning, integrated community service, and real-world projects prepare students to develop solutions for the challenges facing their individual communities, countries and the continent.
Ashesi is now recognised as a leader in higher education in Africa, In 2018, the President of Ghana granted the University a Charter to operate as a fully autonomous institution; no longer to be supervised by a public university under Ghana＊s accreditation system. Only 5 out of Ghana's 86 private universities have a charter, and Ashesi is the youngest in Ghana to have achieved such recognition. In 2020, Ashesi was ranked among the world's top 400 universities in the 51勛圖 University Impact Rankings; a ranking based on measurement of actions being taken by universities to help achieve the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. The university ranked highest in Ghana, and ninth in Africa.
