Our engineering degree programmes have been developed through extensive consultation with industry, thus creating a curriculum that supports the industry’s needs in manpower development and innovation. SIT focuses on working with the industry on translational research and innovation, spanning technology readiness levels (TRLs) 3-7. Unlike traditional research which is discovery-oriented, applied research projects have higher TRLs which bridge the gap between theoretical research and industry applications. SIT Engineering Cluster focusses on the five key pillars of Applied Research (i) Infrastructure (Maintenance) (ii) Sustainability (Built Environment) (iii) Energy Resilience (iv) Maritime Engineering and (v) Advanced Manufacturing, working with various industry sectors in Singapore as well as in the region.

For this faculty position in area of?aquaculture technologies, we are looking for candidates with the following essential and desirable skillset and competencies.

Essential


	Academic and/or industrial experience in engineering solutions for the aquaculture industry
	Expertise in some or any of the areas of systems engineering, robotics, automation, IOT, and data analytics
	Experience and knowledgeable in the field of aquaculture, with basic knowledge of the related sciences
	Motivated to develop and to teach aquaculture technologies curriculum
	Strong demonstration of interest to develop solutions through applied research projects


Desirable


	Good knowledge in aquaculture system design, including RAS, monitoring system, and energy management
	Experience in emerging applications of automation, artificial intelligence and data analytics solutions for aquaculture
	Hands on experience in commercial aquaculture farm operation is a plus?
	Preferred to having a PhD in a related technical area
	Led or involved in strong industry - academia partnership projects

As a University Assistant Praedoc you will be part of the research team of the professorship of Ethics with Special Emphasis on Applied Ethics of Prof. Dr. Angela Kallhoff. The main research areas associated with this professorship are: Systematics and history of ethics, fundamental questions of practical philosophy, political philosophy, ethics of war and peace and applied ethics with a focus on nature and climate ethics.

Your duties will include active participation in research, teaching and administration at the Department of Philosophy in the research area of Practical Philosophy. The main focus of the position is on the completion of a dissertation ready for publication in the range of topics of the research area or research focus.

The employment duration is 3 years. Initially limited to 1.5 years, the employment relationship is automatically extended to 3 years if the employer does not terminate it within the first 12 months by submitting a non-extension declaration.

You actively participate in research, teaching & administration, which means:


	You are involved in research projects, conferences, research organization tasks and teaching.
	You work on your dissertation and its completion.
	We expect you to finalize your dissertation agreement within 12-18 months.
	You hold courses independently within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.
	You will take on administrative tasks in research and teaching as well as in the department.

About Us

Applications are invited for the position of Post-Doctoral Research Associate as part of a Medical Research Council Funded Research proposal in the Research Department of Imaging Physics & Engineering, School of Biomedical Engineering and Imaging Sciences (BMEIS) at King’s College London. ?

This position is based at St Thomas’ Hospital with additional close links to King’s College Hospital. We therefore work directly at the interface of clinical and engineering research which provides valuable insight into the challenges and opportunities in acquiring and interpreting clinical data, offering exciting opportunities to perform truly translational research.

Cancer detection, diagnosis and clinical intervention can significantly increase chances of patient survival. However, current non-invasive imaging methods are unable to visualise the microvasculature associated with cancerous tumours deep in the body.

Recently developed super-resolution ultrasound (SR-US) imaging?is gaining world-wide recognition due to its ability to achieve a resolution far beyond the conventional limit for ultrasound (US), allowing visualisation of micro-vascular structure and flow. SR-US also has potential to provide access to multiple new quantitative functional and morphological parameters that could be crucial for disease characterisation, monitoring and intervention.

Recent advances in US including ultrafast data acquisition and 2D array technology has provided fast volumetric data acquisition and imaging rates of thousands of frames per second in deep tissue, allowing opportunity to develop advanced 3D SR-US.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic researcher to develop state-of-the-art methodologies and quantification for super-resolution ultrasound imaging (SRUS) in 2D and 3D. This will require experiences in data acquisition and processing related to ultrasound imaging and contrast enhanced ultrasound. This aims to provide a reliable and repeatable clinical technique to extract quantitative microvascular information.

The purpose of the role is to design, develop, and perform experiments and to develop associated processing strategies for SRUS imaging. The PDRA will work closely with the Fellow on the project’s experimental and data acquisition aspects. This will involve designing, developing and performing experimental systems and acquisition protocols. The RA will assist with data curation and implementation of processing software. This will require computational skills, good knowledge of programming languages such as MATLAB, and an ability to plan experiments, make and record observations and test hypotheses. The candidate will propose and define strategies for extending the imaging strategies with a research system and programmable 2D matrix-array probe to allow 3D SRUS imaging.?

This is a full time post (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract until 31 October 2025.

About You

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

*?Please note that this is a PhD level role but candidates who have submitted their thesis and are awaiting award of their PhDs will be considered. In these circumstances the appointment will be made at Grade 5, spine point 30 with the title of Research Assistant. Upon confirmation of the award of the PhD, the job title will become Research Associate and the salary will increase to Grade 6.

About the role

We are seeking a distinguished Associate Professor/Professor to lead research into the impact of environmental pollutants on human health. This new role will expand the multidisciplinary Centre for Environmental Health and Sustainability (CEHS), founded in 2018. The focus will be on understanding chemical exposures and their mechanisms.

The postholder will play a key role in the Environment Theme within the Leicester National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) Biomedical Research Centre (BRC). This offers excellent opportunities for clinical collaboration. They will also contribute to the NIHR Health Protection Research Unit (HPRU) in Chemical Threats and Hazards, launching in April 2025. Collaborations with the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) and the Health & Safety Executive will be integral to this role.

The role involves establishing a competitive research group and contributing to the strategic priorities of the Department, College of Life Sciences, and CEHS. The postholder will support innovative teaching and report to both the Head of Department and the CEHS Director. As a senior member of CEHS, they will help shape the Centre’s research strategy and take on managerial responsibilities to support the team.

Working in an interdisciplinary environment, the research portfolio will strengthen collaborations between CEHS and other University bodies, including the Leicester NIHR BRC, the NIHR HPRU in Environmental Exposures and Health, and the University’s Institute for Environmental Futures. The Institute focuses on the ecological and health impacts of climate change and has strong links with CEHS.
