In your news article ※In mission to protect students, OfS will be &tough and rational*§ (News, 16?November), you report Nicola Dandridge, the incoming chief executive of the Office for Students, as saying: ※You only have a higher education experience once.§ She goes on to imply that this unique experience happens early in a student*s life for ※two, three or four years§.
Really?
Her assertions must come as something of a shock to inter?alia Birkbeck, University of London and the Open University.?
Even in the 19th century, what she says was not always true; far less in the 21st century.
