The Royal Academy of Engineering will double the number of postdoctoral research fellowships it funds by teaming up with the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council.
The academy's existing scheme will be replaced next year by eight new fellowships, offering research support of ?10,000 a year for five years, plus the appointee's gross salary. RAEng/EPSRC Fellowship holders will also be able to apply for the EPSRC's First Grant of up to ?120,000 towards research costs.
