Eritrea to enter internet age

Plans to link the University of Asmara in Eritrea, the only African country not on the internet, have been announced by Eritrea¡¯s ministry of transport and communications. The country is due to end its digital isolation after numerous delays to plans first announced four years ago.

EU ministers praise UK initiative

A meeting of EU research ministers in Brussels today praised a UK initiative for disseminating scientific findings as a prime example of the machinery needed to build a planned European research community. The project, , is used by more than 1,000 organisations to disseminate their work.
