If psychotherapists want respect for alternatives to randomised controlled trials, they must outline them clearly, not model their rhetoric on that of homeopaths (※Jury*s out on trial by ideological ordeal§, Letters, 14 February): ※cowed and brutalised by the combination of accountancy and mathematics§ translates to me as ※they won*t let us spend money on therapies with no provable effect§. Funny that.
