Nigel Probert (Letters, 3 October) opposes student feedback on the grounds that the teacher*s intuition is ※a natural process more immediate and more valuable than formal feedback§. Sir Karl Popper definitively demolished this view some decades ago when he observed: ※Intuition prevents some people from imagining that anyone could possibly dislike chocolate.§
