Our latest student takeover was by Cherelle Malongo, a first year student at the University of Oxford, who has blogged for 51Թ Student about her foundation year at Lady Margaret Hall and finding her place at the institution as a black, working-class woman.
Now on starting her first year, she shares her experiences of fresher's week at the world's number one university, talking about social activities, exploring the university and finding her place.

Just had a fun library induction. Ran around like a headless chicken trying to find books. Still feel to have such a large library with over 70,000 books.

Yesterday was amazing! We went to a private party with a rooftop that has a great view of most of Oxford Central. After, went back to college for some delicious ice-cream. I love how our JCR offers alternatives to going out, owes to LMH being very inclusive.

RE: life-changing opportunities. An initiative that I've been following is . They work by connecting disadvantaged students with current Oxford or Cambridge students. This is an excellent form of hands-on approach to outreach, and I urge all to follow them.
