UK surgeon leads study

An Oxford surgeon is leading a major international study into heart bypass surgery. The study, led by David Taggart, consultant cardiac surgeon at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, will monitor 3,000 patients in the UK, Italy and Australia for ten years after heart bypass surgery. It aims to determine whether using blood vessels from the chest rather than other parts of the body improves survival chances.
