Student dies in Colombian campus demo
A Colombian medical student died during a violent march by hooded demonstrators at the Universidad Nacional in Bogot¨¢. Carlos Geovanny Blanco Legu¨ªzano was struck on the chest by a stone and died despite desperate attempts by his own professors to revive him.

Scots anthrax hoax disrupts Washington
An anthrax hoax closed the Washington offices of the American Association of University Professors for three days. A letter containing white powder, believed to have been mailed from Scotland, tested negative for anthrax. Other national organisations in the Washington area also received hoaxes.
