Erica is an AVP at Sam Houston State University in the Division of Student affairs, and her portfolio includes Student Health, Student Wellness, Campus Recreation, Counseling and Services for Students with Disability. She has a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Administration from Texas Tech University and a Master of Science in Healthcare Quality and Safety from Sam Houston State University. Prior to her current role in higher education, she was a 16-year healthcare professional in the hospital and clinic settings as both an Occupational Therapy clinician and administrator. Erica has been an Executive Board member for the Southwest College Health Association affiliate holding each role from member at large to immediate past president from 2018 to 2025. She just completed a 2-year term on the board as Region 1 Representative and is continuing her volunteer leader role as Member at Large. Her favorite humans call her Gigi.
