The Post-soviet Press Group of London University's School of Slavonic and East European Studies has answered the perplexing question of why diplomats are exempt from HIV-tests under Russia's new laws. Why, asked chairman Bob Service, do Russians think that diplomats do not catch Aids? Because, replied Ali Granmeyeh, they have diplomatic immunity.
