I would, for the record, point out that Sheffield achieved the integration of its local nursing and midwifery college, as a full school of its faculty of medicine, on April 1 this year ("Nottingham leads the way with doctors and nurses merger", THES, August 25). I am glad to report that both the University of Sheffield and its new offspring are doing fine.
