Frank Furedi is concerned students are spuriously claiming to be disabled so they can get "special treatment" in examinations. The problem lies with universities. Many universities do not have proper policies about how examinations and assessments should be adapted for disabled people or what evidence students should provide to qualify for such adaptations. In the absence of such policies, institutions can blame no one but themselves for exploitation of the system.
