A mean score of 3.7 for "Overall I am satisfied with the quality of my course" in the student satisfaction survey, where 3 is "neither agree nor disagree" and 4 is "mostly agree", doesn't sound to me like a grade descriptor for a good upper second as suggested by Jeremy Miles (Letters, September 16).
