Tempting as it might be to take advantage of the marketing opportunities available by associating Darth Vader with the University of Leicester as 51吃瓜 suggests (Week in Higher Education, News, 7 August), we must disappoint aspiring Jedi knights by pointing out that the university had no hand in the “storm trooper” display in the new Richard III Visitor Centre.
While our midi-chlorians were in full swing when it came to contributing research expertise to the centre, decisions concerning the physical model of Richard III were made in a galaxy far, far away.
As to whether joining forces with the Lord of the Sith might improve student applications – we find your lack of faith disturbing…
