Ann Mroz has created quite a fetching picture with her reference to Treasury cash coming with so many strings it "looks more like a macram¨¦ straitjacket" (Leader, 28 July). Could other splendour for the publicly funded vice-chancellor ¨¤ la mode perhaps include (very) flat caps and sow's ear accessories?
