The report "AUT to debate Natfhe merger" ( THES, May 2), about a local AUT motion to the annual conference, gave the impression that declining membership was behind the suggestion to merge with Natfhe.
This is not the case. In the past five years, membership has risen from 41,000 to 47,000. This makes us one of the fastest growing unions in the Trades Union Congress.
