Located in Pakistan’s Khyber province, The University of Haripur was founded in 2008 as a campus of Hazara University.
It become a university in its own right in 2012.
There were just two faculties when the university was founded: social and administrative science and basic and applied science.
There are now five faculties agricultural science, biomedical and health science, information technology and engineering, natural science and social and administrative science. This has been accompanied by substantial investment in infrastructure and faculty.
New courses include Pakistan’s first degree in medical laboratory technology.
The university also provides training sessions for local farmers in new agricultural technology.  The University of Haripur is also a member of the recently-formed China-Pakistan Traditional Medicine and Infectious Diseases Prevention and Control Alliance.

Position Overview

This post-doc represents an exciting collaboration between ANU and the Australian government, focussing on the intersection between AI and personality, with a specific focus on understanding personality in an online environment. To solve this problem, you will work closely with a fellow psychology post-doctoral candidate.

Specifically, this role will seek to develop sophisticated AI approaches that extract psychological insights from digital text data. You will work with world-class computing infrastructure while tackling challenging problems that bridge computer science and psychology, collaborating directly with both academic researchers and the Australian Government.

Working in partnership with the Australian government, you will have the opportunity to liaise with international partners and academic institutions.? You will also be encouraged to work on additional projects that complement the main body of research, integrate within existing research labs, and develop teaching and science communication skills.

The Person

We are looking for a qualified computer scientist or computational linguist with demonstrated expertise in training large language models and using larger scale computing infrastructure for affective computing or applications in psychology. We are looking for someone who likes challenging problems and encourages team members and colleagues to workshop effective solutions across disciplinary boundaries. Innovation and creativity are essential in this role, and a desire to tackle complex problems that have direct practical application to the work of the Australian government.

About the role:

Operating within?Placement Services, the Contract Management Officer will provide high-level administrative support in the initiation, management, review and reporting of third party and educational partnerships relating to student professional practice placement agreements and operational schedules; in collaboration with the Manager Placement Services, Team Leaders, Placement Services and Schools of the Faculty of Heath Sciences (FHS).

More specifically, the role entails:

	In consultation, prepare student placement agreements for review and advice from the Office of the FHS Executive Dean and the ACU Office of General Counsel.
	Seek advice on student placement agreement clauses from ACU Privacy and or ACU Insurance; and liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure parties understand and can comply with the student placement agreement terms.
	Coordinate the review of state-specific agreement clauses or inclusions with the relevant state-based Placement Services Team Leader.
	In collaboration with the Manager Placement Services, develop a quality assurance framework for third-party and educational partnerships relating to professional practice placement; and manage the implementation of the quality assurance process and prepare reports for the National Professional Practice Lead (NPPL) of each discipline every semester.

The post will be based at St Thomas’ Hospital in central London in the School of Biomedical Engineering & Imaging Sciences at King’s College London:?https://www.kcl.ac.uk/bmeis. There is an unmatched infrastructure in place to support the planned work, including one of the UK’s only 7 Tesla MRI systems located inside a hospital environment, state-of-the-art engineering and physics laboratories, high-performance computing, and industry collaboration through the London Institute for Healthcare Engineering. About The Role

We are seeking an ambitious and motivated neuroscientist with a strong interest in early brain development to join a multidisciplinary team investigating the role of brain iron in early neurodevelopment using ultra-high-field (7 Tesla) quantitative MRI.

This pioneering Wellcome Trust–funded project will open a new window into the developing brain by mapping brain iron trajectories in neonates and infants with unprecedented precision.

The primary focus of this role will be to conduct experiments combining advanced quantitative MRI, blood biomarkers, and neurodevelopmental assessments to understand how brain iron influences early maturation and later outcomes.

You will work as part of a team including clinicians, neuroscientists, engineers and computer scientists, engaged with studying the early developing brain with previously unprecedented precision.

The post holder must have a solid understanding of MRI principles and developmental neuroscience, with demonstrable experience in the analysis of neonatal or infant MRI data. Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary research teams, including clinicians, physicists, and neuroscientists, is essential.

This is a full-time post, and you will be offered a fixed term contract for up to 15 months.

About You

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria?


	PhD (or equivalent) in Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, MRI Physics, or a closely related discipline (or near completion/pending results)*
	Strong experience in human neuroimaging, particularly in neonatal, infant, or pediatric MRI
	Experience with quantitative MRI methods (e.g. diffusion MRI, QSM, relaxometry, or magnetization transfer imaging),
	Proficiency in neuroimaging analysis pipelines, including familiarity with tools such as FSL, MRtrix, ANTs, or equivalent, and programming or scripting in Python, R, or bash/zsh on Linux/HPC environments.
	Experience working with clinical research data, including neuroimaging and clinical data collection, image processing, and statistical analysis.
	Understanding of developmental neuroscience or clinical neuroimaging contexts (e.g., perinatal brain injury, congenital or preterm cohorts).
	Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with clinicians, engineers, and neuroscientists.
	Ability to work without close supervision


Desirable criteria


	MSc in Neuroscience or other relevant area.
	Experience using REDCap or equivalent platforms for clinical or research data management.
	Experience with advanced quantitative MRI techniques, such as quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM), T2* relaxometry, or magnetization transfer (MT) imaging.
	Familiarity with linking imaging data to biological or clinical metrics, including hematological markers and neurodevelopmental outcomes.
	Ability to plan and prioritize workload.

The Department has a vibrant and collaborative research culture spanning clinical, health, and cognitive psychology.

The role will involve close collaboration with colleagues across the School as part of the NIHR Research Support Service (RSS), which provides expert methodological and research design advice to health and care researchers across England.

About the role:

The role is divided between supporting the delivery of funded clinical trials within the Psychology Department and contributing to the mental health and neuroscience focused NIHR Support Service Hub hosted by King's College London and Partners.

You will play a key role in the innovative NIHR program grant, REFUEL-MS, which is developing and evaluating a tailored digital treatment to help individuals with multiple sclerosis effectively manage their fatigue. You will be involved in analysing data and preparing publications for other trials, such as the PACT-AM trial, evaluating personalised acceptance and commitment therapy for Parkinson's disease, and the evaluation of the COMPASS online psychological treatment for individuals experiencing psychological distress related to long-term health conditions.

As part of the NIHR Research Support Service Hub hosted by King's College London and Partners, you will be fully immersed in a dynamic team dedicated to research methodology in mental health and neuroscience. This hub is committed to helping researchers improve people's lives by understanding how to prevent mental health difficulties and find better treatments. As a member of the NIHR RSS hub at King's, you will collaborate with a diverse team of methodologists to provide support, advice, and expertise to researchers, especially those applying for and receiving NIHR funding, especially fellowships, with a focus on quantitative aspects of the design.

This is a full time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract until 31/03/2028.
