The Department of Family Medicine and Primary Care, School of Clinical Medicine aims to educate doctors to practise medicine at the highest standard, prioritising the best interests of their patients and the community, and to inspire them to strive for and achieve academic excellence.? The mission of the Department is to promote quality primary care through education, patient-centred service and research in family medicine.???

Applicants should possess a primary medical qualification registrable with the Medical Council of Hong Kong and a higher qualification in general practice/family medicine, preferably holding a FHKAM (Family Medicine) or equivalent specialist qualification.? They should demonstrate excellence in clinical services; have a strong commitment and experience in undergraduate teaching; and exhibit the capacity and potential in research.? They should also be fluent in English as teaching, research and professional activities are conducted in English.?

The appointee is expected to participate in the planning and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate medical education programmes in Family Medicine; conduct clinical research; develop and provide clinical services in primary care in the HKUMed affiliated hospitals and clinics; and contribute to administrative duties in the Department, Faculty and University.? A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.? At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.? The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 15% of basic salary.? A monthly cash allowance will be offered to the successful candidate.? ?Housing benefits will also be provided as applicable.?

The Faculty of Chemistry is seeking a highly skilled and motivated?Mass Spectrometry Core Facility Manager?to?oversee the operations of our advanced mass spectrometry facility. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge chemical and interdisciplinary research while managing state-of-the-art instrumentation. The position is initially limited to one year with the option of subsquent permanent employment.

Your future tasks:

Active participation in research, teaching & administration, which means:


	Oversee the daily operations of the mass spectrometry core facility, including responsibility for personnnel and budget.
	Maintain and develop relations with?users and customers.
	Maintain calibrate and troubleshoot high-end mass spectrometers (e.g., LC-MS, GC-MS, MALDI_TOF and ICP-MS).
	Develop and optimize analytical methods for chemical, biochemical, and environmental applications.
	Provide training, consultation and technical support to researchers, students and faculty members.
	Manage budgets, facility usage and service (curate the web-based research facility management software)
	Generate customized reports.
	Stay updated on the?latest?mass spectrometry advancements and implement best practices.
	You take on administrative tasks in research, teaching and administration.


This is part of your personality:


	Ph.D. or equivalent experience in analytical chemistry or a related field.
	Extensive hands-on experience with mass spectrometry techniques and data analysis.
	Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot instrumentation.
	Excellent communication and organizational skills to collaborate with diverse research groups.
	Prior experience in facility management is an advantage.

For this faculty position, we are looking for candidates with an engineering background, who have extensive experience in the area of digital supply chain.

Essential


	Academic and/or industrial experience in design and managing digital supply chain solutioning and supply chain management.
	Having a background and interest in one or more fields of digital supply chain, including but not limited to digital supply chain transformation, digital manufacturing, E-procurement, E-commerce, E-logistics.
	Experience and knowledgeable in one or more areas of supply chain operations management, risk management and operations research, such as demand forecasting, inventory control, procurement, manufacturing, distribution, warehouse and transportation simulation, optimization and management.
	Motivated to develop and to teach curriculum in supply chain sustainability.
	Strong demonstration of interest to develop supply chain security, supply chain digital twin, and artificial intelligence solutions through applied research projects.


Desirable


	Good knowledge in digital supply chain-related technologies such as AI, LLMs, Cyber Security, IoT, 3D printing, automation, supply chain security, digital twins, and block chains.
	Hands on experience in commercial digital supply chain solutioning projects with both hardware and software elements.

SIS is looking for experienced Senior Lecturer/ Lecturer who will (i) teach multiple subjects in Master of Science in Cross-disciplinary Technologies+ (MScCT+) and Master of Liberal Sciences (MLS), focusing on information systems, business and data analytics, electronic business, digital marketing and new media, smart manufacturing, artificial intelligence, etc., (ii) work on the promotions and admissions as well as the operations for MScCT+ and MLS, and (iii) contribute to other administrative duties as required by the supervisors.

Candidates should have (i) a doctoral degree in engineering, data science, computer science, business, information systems, artificial intelligence, or other relevant areas; (ii) experience in teaching relevant courses and relevant programme administrative experience; and (iii) good command of English and Chinese (including Mandarin). Candidates who possess a strong academic background but have less teaching experience, or those with lower qualifications but substantial teaching experience, will also be considered.

The Technical Officer supports laboratory operation and laboratory maintenance; ensuring laboratories are safe and in conducive condition for laboratory research and education activities.

Key Responsibilities:

1.??? Laboratory Operations:

1.1.? Laboratory Space Allocation:

a.??? Evaluate the physical layout and infrastructure of the laboratory to determine the space suitability for the intended projects.

b.??? Optimise space usage by enhancing layout, including equipment arrangement within the laboratory and assess the potential technical requirements for the space and equipment.

c.???? Work with ARO and Faculty Lab-in-Charge on space allocation recommendations to Vice President (Applied Research) based on the assessments conducted in points a and b.

d.??? Support the review of space-related change requests including space usage extension and additional space needs.

e.??? Assist Project Investigators (PI) and project team in setting up and configuring equipment or instrumentation, and in vacating the space upon project completion.

f.????? Maintain accurate records of space assignments, utilization, and changes and ensuring timely updates to the research space inventory database.

g.??? Liaise with Estates to grant lab users access to laboratories upon approval.

2.??? Laboratory Maintenance:

2.1.? Establish, maintain, and update a repository of standard operating procedures (SOPs), including risk assessments (RAs), and other essential documentation for the laboratory.

2.2.? Assist and support PIs and other lab users in setting up, maintaining, and executing proper maintenance protocols for laboratory equipment.

2.3.? Oversee the daily operations and upkeep of the laboratory, which include maintaining inventory lists of chemicals, licenses and permits, and waste management.

3.??? Laboratory Safety:

3.1.? Ensure lab users adhere to safety protocols, regulations, and standards within the laboratory environment by collaborating with the POD Safety Team, PIs, and their respective project teams.

3.2.? Implement the requirements of the Lab Safety Management system, which include:

a.??? conducting regular safety inspections;

b.??? confirming user lab safety training;

c.???? implementing safety procedures; and

d.??? identifying opportunities for improvement.

3.3.? Mitigate potential risks by assessing User risk assessments and supporting PIs in implementing risk controls.

Job Requirements:


	Have a minimum Undergraduate Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent qualification.
	With at least 8 years of work experience in Engineering or Infocomm Technology related labs.
	Experience in managing safety as well as inventories.
	Experience with procurement and document management.
	Familiar with engineering and materials processes.
	Have practical knowledge of safety and license requirements for the operation of the laboratory.
	Having experience in managing engineering/ infocomm technology research laboratory will be an advantage.
	Experience with creating Risk assessments, Standard operating procedures, and maintenance of laboratory inventories.
