Tajik National University is the oldest and largest higher education institution in Tajikistan. It was established in March 1947 as Tajik State University to train skilled professionals during the Soviet era. Since the country¡¯s independence in 1991, it has played a central role in shaping Tajikistan¡¯s academic and research landscape.
It is located in Dushanbe, Tajikistan¡¯s capital and cultural hub.
Academically, the university is comprised of 19 faculties, including law, international relations, journalism, philology, physics, chemistry, biology and medicine, alongside programmes in economics, philosophy and oriental studies. It offers courses at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels, with a growing emphasis on scientific research and academic collaboration.
