Islamia College Peshawar

The Islamia College Peshawar was founded in 1913 by The Sir Sayyed of the Frontier, and has since become the mother institution of three universities and several colleges on its campus. Spread across 300 acres, the college is located in Peshawar, in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa area of Pakistan. 
There are five faculties at the college which include: arts and languages, basic and social sciences, religious and legal studies, natural sciences, and technologies and engineering sciences. 
Students regularly participate in inter-collegiate sporting championships. Sports offerings include cricket, football, cross country, hockey, lawn tennis and more. The Khyber Union Hall is the hub of student activities on campus, built in 1942, and is responsible for managing the university’s societies such as Islamic culture, law, character building, adventure and hiking, drama, creative art and more.

Description

The Public Health Research Center (PHRC) at New York University Abu Dhabi is seeking a Research Assistant Bioinformatician with experience in population genetics and machine learning to join its team. The ideal candidate will have experience in bioinformatics, whole-genome sequencing data analysis and predictive modelling. The role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, multidisciplinary research environment alongside epidemiologists, geneticists and computational biologists. The PHRC is focused on understanding the factors influencing health outcomes and traits related to the most common non-communicable diseases in the UAE. This is achieved by investigating and integrating diverse data sources, including epidemiological, clinical, genetic, and multi-omic data. The successful candidate will benefit from the support of established Core Bioinformatics and Sequencing Platforms and High-Performance Computing facilities.

Applicants must have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computational Biology. Excellent experimental and in silico skills relevant to the project (in particular genomics and bioinformatics), and strong programming skills (e.g., Python, R, Bash, Java, C++), are also required.

The Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Vienna is the largest Austrian institution of mathematical research and tertiary education in the mathematical sciences. It consists of active research groups in a wide range of fields, starting from logical foundations, bridging all classical core subjects, and up to concrete applications in industry. The Core Operations Mathematics of the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Vienna is looking for an organisational assistant to support the administration team. The position should be filled at the earliest possible date, ideally at the beginning of August 2025. The position is a part-time (20 hours per week) temporary replacement until 31.07.2026. By mutual agreement, the position may be extended to a permanent position.

Your professional field of activity:

The Faculty of Mathematics offers a dynamic international working environment. As an organisational assistant to the main organised administration team at Core Operations Mathematics you will primarily carry out administrative tasks for the Institute of Mathematics at the Kurt G?del Research Center for Mathematical Logic.

Your future tasks:

You will support the academic staff in the organisation and administration of their research, project and teaching tasks. This means, for instance:


	You will be jointly responsible for personnel management in third-party funded projects and will support the research assistants in all administrative matters relating to their research and teaching tasks. This includes organizing workshops, conferences, and weekly seminars, as well as being responsible for travel management, absence management, third-party budget management and the entries of scientific papers into the university database.
	You will assist with the design of the website and its ongoing maintenance. And you will prepare the weekly newsletter.
	You will be the central point of contact and handle English and German correspondence with all interfaces (within the team, within the university, with project partners, students, and companies).
	You assist with teaching and exam administration.
	You will be responsible for repairs and maintenance and will assist with planning and implementing room schedules.
	You will provide administrative support for visiting scientists and carry out all kind of general administrative activities.


Required Qualifications/Position requirement:


	Professional experience in office management (preferably in a scientific/university context).
	General or vocational secondary or higher school leaving certificate (Matura) or commercial apprenticeship qualification and
	Very good MS Office skills (especially Word, Excel and Power Point).
	High level of written and verbal fluency in German and English.
	Experience with content management systems (e.g. Typo 3).
	Interest in supporting for guests from home and abroad.

Applications are invited for the part-time post of Senior Teaching Fellow BM5 BM5 Primary Care (PC) Clinical Practice (CP) 1 and 2 deputy Module Lead, to join the Medical Education Unit in the Faculty of Medicine. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design, development and delivery of PC teaching and learning experience for students on the BM5 programme on the new revalidated curriculum which is launching September 2025.

As the post holder, you will also contribute to help the development and delivery of the PC subject teaching across the Batchelor of Medicine programmes and will help students meet the General Medical Council’s learning outcomes relating to PC as in “Outcomes for Graduates 2018”. You will work with a range of staff with different backgrounds and promote the shared vision for PC. You will be responsible for recruitment, placement, teaching and training GP teachers to support the delivery of PC in the BM5 cohort of CP 1 module and use the second session to deputise both CP1 and 2. You will enable students to develop skills and competencies needed for building a solid foundation in the early years, as students’ progress to consulting patients safely and enhance the student learning experience.?
