Duties and Responsibilities


	Perform literature reviews for a community pharmacy-related project
	Design the study protocol and questionnaires
	Prepare human ethics applications for research projects
	Design the logistics of patient recruitment in the study
	Communicate with community partners for recruitment and logistics support
	Arrange and facilitate survey completion with participants
	Conduct qualitative and quantitative data analysis
	Prepare reports and manuscripts
	Assist in the supervision of junior research staff

Requirements


	A master’s degree with at least 1 year’s post-qualification experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 3 years’ experience since the award of the first degree. Graduates in?health economics?will be an advantage. Degree holder in other healthcare-related or social sciences disciplines, including but not limited to public health, pharmacy, nursing, biostatistics, psychology, social work, and social administration or a related field, is also welcome.
	Experience in conducting willingness to pay (WTP) and ability to pay (ATP) study is a must.
	Experience in conducting mixed methods studies (e.g. patient recruitment, conducting individual and/or focus group interviews, designing questionnaires for survey studies, survey validation, data collection, and qualitative and quantitative analyses using various tools, e.g. NVivo, Qualtrics, R, STATA), quality of life research, or economic evaluations will be an advantage.
	A relevant background in liaising research projects with pharmacy or IRB preparations will be advantageous.
	A strong sense of responsibility and the ability to work independently and in a team.
	Excellent coordination, organization, and problem-solving skills.
	A good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese).

The School of Music at the Academy offers comprehensive full-time programmes, including Diploma, BMus, MMus, and a new doctoral degree (expected 2027), alongside its highly successful Junior Music Programme – comparable to the ‘Junior Schools’ of other world-leading conservatoires. In keeping with its conservatoire status, the School’s philosophy is centred on performance and reflects the unique cultural mix of Hong Kong, with emphasis on both Western and Chinese traditions. The School comprises the Departments of Strings, Keyboard, Voice, Woodwind/Brass/Percussion (‘WBP’), Composition, Chinese Music, Conducting and Cultural Leadership, Academic Studies and Junior Music.

Applications are now invited for the Senior Lecturer (Strings) post (i.e., violin/viola). The postholder is responsible for leading instrumental and ensemble training, programme development, and coordinating productions and events presented by the Strings Department when required. Some administrative duties, as well as performance and creative activities, will be expected. The postholder reports to the Head of Strings, who reports to the Dean of Music.

Applicants should have:

(a)? ?A recognised degree in Music or equivalent qualification in violin/viola performance (preferably a doctoral degree in Strings performance or relevant disciplines).
(b)? ?A strong professional background and extensive professional experience as a performer and an educator.
(c)? ?In-depth knowledge of current Strings area trends, pedagogical approaches, and performance practices in Strings music, including solo performance, chamber music, orchestra, early music, contemporary music, and cross-disciplinary collaborations, ensuring the School remains at the forefront of creative and educational excellence.
(d)? ?Internationally recognised standing and good industry network.
(e)? ?An excellent teaching record in conservatoire/university contexts across undergraduate, postgraduate, and pre-college music programmes.
(f)? ? The ability to advise and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects, and experience in carrying out practice as research.
(g)? ?Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
(h)? ?A good command of both written and spoken English. Fluency in Chinese (including Putonghua and Cantonese) is an advantage.

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT 

Appointment will be on a two-year renewable contract, subject to performance and mutual agreement.? A gratuity payment equals up to 15% of the total basic salary earned during the contract period may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the full contract period.? The amount of gratuity payable will be the sum which, when added to the Academy’s contribution to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, equals 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.?? Fringe benefits include leave, medical, and dental benefits.? Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.? Non-accountable Cash Allowance will be provided to the eligible appointee. The expected commencement date will be 1 September 2025.? The current standard rate of income tax in Hong Kong is 15%.

?About The Role

The project focuses on the development of computational “digital twin” models and novel control strategies for sustainable MRI in low- and middle-income settings. You will take a lead role in modelling the behaviour of low-cost MRI systems, developing AI-driven control methods, and validating performance through both simulation and hands-on experiments, including collaborations with international partners.?

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research at the interface of medical imaging, AI, and global health. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team with strong links to clinical practice and a shared goal of advancing MRI technology for broader, equitable access.

The role will offer opportunities for travel, publication, and collaboration across a global network of academic and clinical partners. Candidates should hold (or be close to completing) a PhD in a relevant field and have strong experience in scientific computing and data modelling. Experience with MRI, AI/machine learning, or imaging hardware is desirable.?

This is a full time post (35 Hours per week).
