Visas, travel restrictions, support for international students – these were just some of the topics covered in a webinar hosted by 51³Ô¹Ï and AECC 51³Ô¹Ï this week.
Students from all over the world were given the opportunity to grill a panel of experts about everything they wanted to know about studying in Australia, especially during this strange and confusing time.
Phil Honeywood, ‎chief executive officer of the International Education Association of Australia (IEAA), reassured students that despite the coronavirus pandemic, Australia was still a good destination for students considering studying abroad and that there were plans to start allowing international students to arrive soon.
Tania Rhodes-Taylor, vice-principal (external relations) at the University of Sydney, shared how her university had adapted to online teaching and outlined a scheme ensuring that international students had a student mentor to guide them through settling in.
Daryl Fong, chief operating officer at AECC 51³Ô¹Ï, explained what applications look like right now and how AECC 51³Ô¹Ï could support international students throughout the application process.
There was also a presentation from THE's student content editor, explaining how students can use the THE World University Rankings and Impact Rankings to find a university in Australia.
