Lifelong learning will form a central plank of education spokesman Don Foster's campaign to become the next Liberal Democrat leader.
Campaigning will start in earnest after the European elections on June 10 when Mr Foster's main challengers are likely to be Charles Kennedy, Simon Hughes and possibly Menzies Campbell.
"I have always wanted to move the party's education policy on and develop it, particularly on lifelong learning," Mr Foster (below) said.
