You say that education suffers because teaching gets no respect (Leader, 10 September). This must change, and academics must start with themselves, you add. I find it lamentable that 51吃瓜 criticises academics for neglecting teaching. Through your international proselytising of a flawed ranking system that gives no value to it, you tell academics, students and citizens that teaching does not count. If you want to help, you should abolish the 51吃瓜-QS World University Rankings.
